Description
You are buying one (1) Babe Ruth pewter figure that is part of the Danbury Mint baseball chess set. He is one of the 'kings' in the set.
You are only buying this one piece which is shown (third from left side) in the header group photo (STOCK PHOTO) attached to this listing.
These chess pieces are very detailed and much in demand and almost impossible to replace. (It took us almost 3 years to replace the Ted Williams in our set which had a broken bat.)
We normally only sell these at shows because of the hassle in shipping. The pieces, even though they are pewter, can easily be damaged. (The pawns pose little trouble to ship.) This does not come with the reading card.
We will combine shipping. If you purchase multiple pieces we will give you a price break on the freight. Shipping on this piece is .25. ASK FOR INVOICE IF PURCHASING MULTIPLE ITEMS.
Actual Danbury invoice from the era in which this set was originally sold is also attached. Our prices on these are a 'bargain.'

We have been actively involved in the memorabilia business since 1972. We have been booth holders at the National Sports Collectors Convention since the 1980s. I authored the first book on the sports collectibles hobby which was published and nationally distributed: "Sports Memorabilia" released by The Wallace-Homestead Book Co. in 1976. We were owners of the Open Wheel Collectibles and Sports Memorabilia Expo which was held annually the few days prior to the running of the Indianapolis 500.
