VINTAGE GIGANTIC “1974 FRONTIER DAYS RODEO, CHEYENNE, WYOMING, PERSONALIZED *ALL AROUND COWBOY*” BAR J BRAND AMERICAN MADE COWBOY TROPHY BELT BUCKLE —
This 1974 personalized & engraved trophy buckle is in very good condition. It is by far the HUGEST Bar J buckle that we have ever seen....it measures 6 1/4” x 4 1/4”, fitting belts up to 2” wide and weighing 9.2 ounces or over half a pound. It was engraved with the owners name, rodeo, date, and “Cheyenne, Wyo.”. We believe that this buckle might have been purchased from a vendor at the Frontier Rodeo in 1974 and personalized for the buyer, but we are not certain of its exact origin. The Frontier Days Rodeo has traditionally not awarded an “All Around” category, so our guess is based on that.  We do know that simply due to this buckle’s enormous size and great condition for it’s age, it is a rare find. We have only had one other Bar J over our many decades of collecting that has come close to the size of this one. It would look fantastic in any western trophy buckle collection.
