    Description

This is a Vintage Western Natural Stone and Solid Brass Belt Buckle.
At the time of the original listing, this was one of three vintage Western motif belt buckles being listing separately.  For those who might be interested, I have included a composite photo of the tree belt buckles as the last photo.  That photo is for comparison ONLY; each belt buckle is being sold individually.
At the time of the original listing we also had several other antique and vintage belt buckles listed:
antique English hallmarked sterling silver buckle
vintage Mexican hallmarked sterling silver Niello belt buckle
vintage Southwest motif sterling silver belt buckle
Western motif inlaid stone belt buckle
Vintage Art Deco Bakelite and plastic jewelry lot that includes eight or nine belt buckles
Also listed were three Mexican money clips, three in sterling silver.
This beautiful buckle is made from natural stone, highly polished on one side only.  The front of the buckle has a silhoutte of a mounted Native American that appears to be a representation of sculptor James Earl Frasers' iconic 1915 sculpture, "The End of the Trail". The silhouette was applied to the stone and then laminated with a protective coat of epoxy or similar.
The buckle's hardware is high quality solid brass.  The maximum dimensions of the buckle are 2 3/4" wide x 2 1/4" high x 3/8" thick, exclusive of the brass.  The buckle weighs 72.4 grams and it has a nice heavy feel.  The opening for the belt will accomodate a belt about 1 5/8" wide.  For a wider handmade belt the end that attaches to the buckle could be trimmed to a narrower profile.
The back of the buckle has the remnants of a maker's sticker, but all that can be seen on the remnant is "WEST ROUT" and "TRA".
    Condition
As found, the belt buckle has a number of light scrapes and scuffs.  These can be seen the enlarged, well lit photos, but on the actual buckle, they are seen mainly just on close inspection, and we will guarantee your satisfaction with the buckle.
