    Description

Featured here is a striking 8x10 in. single-weight gelatin silver glossy original copy print of lobby card art depicting great silent film actor LON CHANEY from the 1925 MGM film, THE UNHOLY THREE.
Born to deaf parents, “The Man of a 1000 Faces,” actor LON CHANEY, worked on stage in a variety of roles before entering films in 1912. He is the dean of silent horror actors. He starred in many Universal films, such as THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA (1925) and THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME (1923), gaining recognition for his outstanding acting and makeup work, before leaving to make films at MGM. At MGM he quickly became a superstar, playing wounded, desperate characters. During this time, he appeared in THE UNHOLY THREE (MGM, 1925), TELL IT TO THE MARINES (MGM, 1926), THE UNKNOWN (MGM, 1927), LAUGH, CLOWN, LAUGH (MGM, 1927), and LONDON AFTER MIDNIGHT (MGM, 1927), before starring in his only sound picture and last film, THE UNHOLY THREE (MGM, 1930), a remake of his silent version.
