For sale here is a scarce variant, early, antique, beautiful electric lime green colored, embossed, square shape, cork top, root beer extract bottle from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The bottle is embossed HIRES / HOUSEHOLD EXTRACT on side one, PHILADELPHIA, PA. / U.S.A. on side two, MANUFACTURED BY / THE CHARLES E. HIRES CO. on side three, and FOR HOME USE on side four. Fantastic color. I took a photo of this bottle next to a standard aqua colored Rumford, see the color comparison. This bottle likely dates to the 1910s. About 4.5 inches tall. No chips or cracks.
