Offered is a beautiful and sleek hand made
Natural Cowhide Chess Board
A superbly done hand made cow skin chess or checker board
with the cow hair still attached (trimmed short, of course)
and an untreated suede backing for strength and stability.
The individual squares are 2" making this ideal for any of the larger designer chess sets.
The board is 25'' overall with a 16" playing surface.
Since this is a natural cow skin it is fully flexible and can be rolled up
and stored in a tube about 4" in diameter for safe keeping.
The tube also serves as a "bring along" for vacation trips
to keep you, or the kids, occupied in case you run into a rainy day.
Or for relaxing in the evening next to a roaring fire.
This is such a beautiful board that, even when you are not playing,
it deserves to be left out just to show the world

As you can see in the picture below, the individual squares are machine sewn together for strength
with a hand sewn border wrapping as an accent.
The accent wrap also helps hold together the double thick suede.
A word about these chess boards:
We have a variety of hand made cowskin boards imported from Brazil.
All of the boards are hand made from natural cow hides.
These are not mass produced, computer controlled, cookie cutter boards.
Since no two cows have the same markings, then no two boards will have the same pattern.
The faces of all of the boards are free from defects, cuts, scars or other imperfections.
However, the backer suede pieces may have some imperfections which, quite frankly,
we consider to be insignicant as the backs will typically not be visible.
To avoid any confusion or complaint
("I didn't get what the picture showed")
we are showing each board in its own individual listing,
with its own picture group.
Whichever board you buy, you will get
exactly
what you see in the picture.
There will NOT be any substitutions.
Each board is brand new and has never been used
