Description
Seller found and recovered both of thesetwo (2) bottles
himself, meaning these may be said to be "wild-caught" glass. He has admired them for the cool script lettering and reeded edges of their Bakelite caps, and for their embossed lettering. He believes them to be from the mid to late 1960s, in keeping with the age of other bottles he found and dug at same location.
These bottles are authentic and show the life they've led. The glass on the older of the two bottles is brighter and more uniformly clear than on the newer bottle, yet both, while very good, do show
internal cloudy patches
or residue deposits
where rain and snowmelt collected and stood in them and then evaporated from them. In the newer bottle this may be seen on and above its shoulder, in the older one on its bottom corner and side. One of these patches is (or may be) visible in one of the photographs; neither is visible when the bottles contain water. (Water remaining after rinsing out the bottles is visible in a couple of the photos.) Interior cap liners on both bottles are discolored and loose but could be glued in place. The black Bakelite caps are somewhat oxidized, but the lips of the mouths of both bottles are smooth, and neither the bottles nor their caps show chips or cracks. Bottles are clean as pictured.
Please see my photographs, all taken in natural light, as they complete the description of these two (2) bottles.
To be shipped as two (2) separate parcels by trackable USPS first class mail for the one price shown.
