Made by one of the FINEST of ALL Buckle Makers and Engravers....DON ELLIS of Seattle, Washington, offered here is a VERY RARE and HIGHLY COLLECTIBLE Sterling and 14K RODEO TROPHY BUCKLE made to accommodate a 1 1/2 inch belt in THREE COLORS of GOLD (BAREBACK RIDER in YELLOW GOLD; Scrolls and Leaves in ROSE GOLD; FLOWERS in GREEN GOLD.) The BLUE ENAMEL INLAY read, "CHRISTENSEN BROS. RODEO BAREBACK RIDER 1959 CHAMPION DON L. WILSON." A TRUE MASTERPIECE!!!
Additionally, this particular buckle comes with a PHOTO OF THIS BAREBACK CHAMPION DOING HIS THING from the 1959 Rodeo. It is considered one of the FINEST EXAMPLES of DON ELLIS MASTERY!!!
In my opinion, DON ELLIS was the finest engraver of his time....as evidenced by his handiwork. These items were highly coveted...as they remain today.
DON ELLIS died in 1969. The buckle is marked "DON ELLIS CO. SEATTLE STERLING," and measures approximately 4 1/4 inches by 3 inches.
