1881-S PCGS Silver Morgan Dollar MS65 Solid ~Duel Rainbow Toned~LQQK!!~
Each coin contains 90% silver and has a face value.
    Coin Highlights:
Contains .7734 oz of .900 fine silver.
Minted from the San Francisco Mint in 1881.
Features the famous Morgan Dollar design created by George T. Morgan.
Morgan Silver Dollars are particularly sought after because of the story associated with their design. Anna Williams, a school teacher, created a stir during the 1870s by posing for the engraver for whom the coins are named for George T. Morgan. At that point in history, young women did not post for artists without some degree of scandal.
The obverse side of each Morgan Silver Dollar features Lady Liberty based on Miss Williamss profile. Her head is surrounded by thirteen stars that are symbolic, of course, of the original thirteen American colonies. The reverse side of each coin shows an American bald eagle clutching its quiver of arrows and an olive branch in its talons. Each coin has been stamped with the inscriptions “In God We Trust,” “United States of America,” and “One Dollar.” These coins are historically unique as their silver essentially comes from the celebrated Comstock Lode of the 1850s. The influx of so much silver persuaded Congress to issue this coin that has become one of the best-known coins in American history.
These Morgan Silver Dollar Coins in cull condition feature approximately .7734 troy ounces of silver in their composition.
How Does a Coin Get Rainbow Toning?
Rainbow Colored coins are in high demand as of late. Collectors are discovering that naturally Rainbow toned coins are a nice artistic addition to their coin collections! Toning on a coin adds additional value because of its stunning colors and uniqueness that each coin has. It's easy to find a blast white coin, but to find a colorful Coin with all these colors are RARE! Collectors are paying high premiums for these beautiful coins! It's like a stunning piece of art that was naturally made. This particular 1881 has stunning color tones to it, on both sides!! Which will continue to increase in color as the years go on. Coin looks better in hand and at an angle you can see the stunning Rainbow colors. This coin is representative of, buy the coin and not the grade!
Morgan Dollars are tougher to find toned because of the silver composition is different than their American Silver Eagle counterpart.
When trace amounts of sulfur or other chemicals come in contact with the surfaces of a silver coin over a period of years, the color and appearance of its surfaces will begin to slowly change.
For example, the paper envelopes and canvas bags that were once used to store coins have often resulted in lovely toning after years of storage, especially in warm or slightly damp environments.
You will get the exact coin pictured.
