Brilliant Uncirculated 1880 Morgan Silver DollarNGC MS 62
Looks Great for the Grade, Very hard to find MS62s this nice
It's hard to find MS62 versions of this date and mint mark that aren't scratched and gouged. I suspect this got the 62 rating due to the small bag mark on the chin. Reverse is a strong strike and almost no scratches or bag marks. When the MS63 or MS64 versions of Morgan Silver Dollars are too expensive, the next best thing for the collector and investor alike is to find the best looking MS62 certification you can find. If the obverse looked as good as the reverse you would be looking at a 63 or 64 easily.
The
Morgan dollar
was a United States
dollar
coin minted from 1878 to 1904, and again in 1921. Uncirculated versions of this graded by NGC as Mint State are well sought after by collectors and investors alike.
Note that the bluish color seen on the coin pictured is not visible to the naked eye, that pale blue coloring is a result of the high-intensity full spectrum scanner. The bluish areas in the scan look bright silver to the naked eye.
