Set
Thissolid brass (white side is coated, looks like pewter) was issued in 2000 by thefamous Italfalma Company of Italy, renowned for its quality products.
The style is the Staunton design which makesit perfectly acceptable for tournament play.
Thiselegant set was acquired new from the Marshall Murphy Co. of New York and hasnever been played. It was set up for photography.
Theouter carton does have some scuff marks. It also shows the Italfalma logo, ModelNumber (75-B), inspector’s sticker and date 6-8-00.
Theboard, made in Spain, while not issued with the set, is also of the highest qualitywith 1.9/16” squares.
The light-coloredmark in the bottom right of the board photo is a light reflection, there are veryfaint sun marks on the board.
Kingis 2.7/8” tall.
Ithink the Ks and Qs were inadvertently reversed in the photos.
Anincredibly beautiful set whether for play or display.

Myfather (a long-time member of CCI (Chess Collectors International) built hiscollection of chess sets with pride over many years and cared for each setmeticulously. But now, sadly, with advancing age, he has decided to part withhis prized sets for others to enjoy.
